Who can be a member?

Parents and guardians of children ages 0 - 18 years old.

Adults who have a vested interest in children but may either not have children of their own, or their children are now adults and they want to support a young family.

Tweens and teens ages 11 - 17years old.

Young Adults 18 - 35 years old.

Families and young adults interested in Christianity, regardless of denomination or religious persuasion. 

Member Commitment

Attend once monthly team meetings via zoom during the reading quarter.

  • There are three reading quarters:

    •  October - December;

    • January - March; &

    • April - June.

  • Renewal will be required at the beginning of each reading quarter.

Stay engaged with with the assigned reading.

  • Parents/guardians are encouraged to engage their child/ward to learn about the book they are reading.

Please use your preferred format for the books - audio, eBook, or print.

Participate in weekly blogs under the member section of the website. Here you can post your questions, as well as respond to the team members.

Parents whose children have a learning disability are responsible for making adaptations. Please reach out to the book club if needed.

Member Guidelines

Members only - membership is obtained through online registration and quarterly renewal. 

Accountability -Parents/guardians whose youth is participating in the Children of Light and Warriors of Faith teams MUST do the following:

1. Register your account first.

2. Indicate the name and age of all children who will be participating.

3. Indicate whether you will be using a sponsor, and provide their contact information.

Exclusive - this is a supportive space for Christian views to be discussed openly.

Open - New members may join the book club at any time during the operating year.

Disciplinary action:

*1st Offense - Verbal. *2nd Offense - Written. *3rd Offence - Meet with board. Board decision is final.

Disciplinary infractions include but is not limited to: bullying, and disregarding privacy guidelines. 

Privacy - Members agree not to record any book club meeting. No exceptions. Meetings are closed and strictly confidential. You agree to this when you become a member.

Use of Sponsor

Parents/guardians may choose a trusted adult to read with their tween/teen if they are unable to participate in Guardians of Hope.

Parents/guardians are solely responsible for monitoring that relationship.

The book club cannot be held liable for interaction between child and sponsor.

All business between the book club and the family will be conducted with the parent/guardian.

All necessary disciplinary actions will be addressed to the parent/guardian.
